Bracket Busters

This is a list of the best players in the 2008/2009 season that you have never heard of.  All of these guys could do some damage come tourney time if they can lead their respective teams to their conference championships.  Stipulations of the people on the list are basically people that you would never see on Sports Center, they play in non-bcs conferences, and obviously can’t have the name, Curry (Stephen and Seth, above).  The reason I know who these players are is because of College Hoops 2k8, R.I.P.  When you game 24/7 on the weekends in college, you can learn a thing or two. We will follow these guys throughout the year.   So without any further adieu, my 1st team IA’s (Invisible Assassins):

1st Team:

holston1PG: #3 David Holston, Sr., Chicago State, Indep:

The man is 5’8 and 160 lbs.  Known about him for a little over 2 years now.  3 point specialist.  Active leader in career 3 pointers in the NCAA.  08/09 Avgs. 28.3 ppg, 5 apg, 3.6 rpg, 3.7 spg.

florence1SG: #0 James Florence, Jr., Mercer, A-Sun:

6’1, 186 lbs.  Known for 2 years.  Kinda strugglin so far this year, but can fill it up.  Has outside game and can get to the tin.  08/09 Avgs. 15.8 ppg, 4.2 apg, 3.3 rpg, 1.8 spg.

wise1SG: #3 Jeremy Wise, Jr., Southern Miss, Conf. USA:

6’2, 165 lbs.  Also known about him for a little over 2 years.  Can shoot 3’s, but more of a slasher.  Puts the biscuit in the basket.  08/09 Avgs. 20.6 ppg, 4.1 apg, 4.6 rpg, 1.7 spg.

rodriguez1SF: #3 Jonathon Rodriguez, Jr., Campbell, A-Sun:

6’5, 200 lbs.  Known a little over 2 years also.  Kind of a slashing big man?  Always around the ball and knows what to do with it.  08/09 Avgs. 19.3 ppg,  2 apg, 9.2 rpg, 1.2 spg.

bryant1C: #54 John Bryant, Sr., Santa Clara, West Coast Conf:

6’10, 305 lbs.  Known for 2 years.  Animal down low.  Got Stabbed.  Just a complete load down on the blocks.  08/09 Avgs. 18.9 ppg, 0.9 apg, 12.9 rpg, 2.6 bpg, 0.6 spg.

I will post my 2nd Team IA’s and Honorable Mention tomorrow if at all possible.  I might also throw some predictions for these guys at ya.  We shall see.
